Mesquite Independent School District (Mesquite ISD) is a prominent educational institution committed to fostering academic excellence and technological advancement within its community. With a focus on integrating state-of-the-art technology to support teaching and learning, Mesquite ISD emphasizes maintaining a robust and secure IT infrastructure. The district operates various educational programs and support services aimed at enhancing the student and staff experience through innovative and effective technological solutions. Mesquite ISD offers a dynamic working environment where professionals are encouraged to contribute to the growth and success of the district by leveraging their technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
The role being offered within this esteemed institution is an Auxiliary - Technical position within the Information Services and Technical Services department. This is a full-time, non-exempt position classified under Pay Grade 4, with a competitive salary range of $59,109 to $83,602. Reporting directly to the Network Operation Supervisor, this opportunity requires a dedicated IT professional who will play a crucial role in the integration and management of Apple and Google devices, servers, and enterprise network storage systems. The successful candidate will be pivotal in ensuring seamless functionality and security across the district's technological assets.
This position demands a deep understanding of multiple operating systems including macOS, iOS, Chrome OS, Linux, Unix, and Windows Server, as well as proficiency in managing large-scale enterprise technology projects. A key responsibility will be overseeing the district's Mobile Device Management (MDM) implementation across various platforms, which includes managing security policies, OS behaviors, and device user-friendliness to maximize instructional time for educators. The role also involves managing Active Directory integrations with Apple devices, Google Workspace MDM endpoint management, and maintaining enterprise SAN hardware and software.
The ideal candidate will bring strong scripting skills such as Apple Script, Unix bash/shell scripting, and Python, along with experience in SQL/MySQL database administration to streamline and automate processes. Additionally, the ability to directly troubleshoot complex issues related to the extensive use of Apple and Google device hardware configurations, server environments, and networking technologies is essential. Collaborating with instructional coaches to facilitate new software rollouts—from packaging and testing to deployment—is a critical part of the role, enabling educational staff to effectively utilize new tools and technology.
In this role, the candidate will liaise with vendors and external consultants on advanced technical challenges, manage contractors on a project basis, and ensure up-to-date documentation and coordination of project activities. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure while handling multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. With opportunities to apply innovative solutions and continuously improve technology deployment and security within an active directory environment, this position offers significant growth potential for the right individual.
