The Food Service Lead Server at Nichols Middle School will play a pivotal role in supporting the daily food service activities. Reporting directly to the Coordinator of Nutrition Services, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing and serving food items efficiently to students and school personnel while maintaining a safe and sanitary food service facility. Key duties include arranging food and beverage items for service, monitoring inventory and food quality, and ensuring accurate meal counts in collaboration with school principals and teachers. The Lead Server will also be involved in daily food ordering processes to ensure proper meal allocation without excess and will maintain meticulous records such as temperature logs and production summaries. Handling monitoring tasks like student account balances and ensuring compliance with food service financial standards is also integral to this position. Flexibility is essential as the Lead Server may perform functions of other nutritional services positions to maintain seamless service coverage. Furthermore, the role requires active participation in departmental meetings and training workshops to stay updated on best practices and regulatory requirements.
