Job Description

We are currently seeking a Part Time Server to join the team at Shaughnessy’s Pub within the Marriott Syracuse Downtown. This role is ideal for energetic, service-oriented individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about delivering exceptional guest interactions. As a Part Time Server, you will play a critical role in ensuring guests enjoy a memorable dining experience by following established service standards and focusing on attention to detail.

Your duties will include setting up and completing side work as assigned, addressing guest inquiries about menu options, and verifying that food presentations meet appearance, temperature, and portion standards before serving. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who maintains a polished and courteous demeanor at all times, communicates effectively with guests and team members, and is ready to support colleagues whenever needed.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior server experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Availability for part-time work
  • Willingness to assist coworkers and work flexible hours

Job Duties

  • Take and serve guest orders promptly and according to service manual
  • Do all necessary set-up and side work as assigned
  • Answer any guest questions about the menu
  • Check food before serving it to guest to ascertain that appearance, temperature and portions are correct
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
