One flagship property under Aparium Hospitality Services is Populus Seattle, a 120-room boutique hotel situated in the heart of Seattle's historic Pioneer Square. This hotel is emblematic of the company's commitment to adaptive reuse, as it revitalizes a landmark building originally constructed in 1907 with exquisite brick and heavy timber craftsmanship. The Server - Seasonal role at Aparium represents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic food and beverage team at Populus Seattle. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager and Food & Beverage Leadership, this position is non-exempt and offers an hourly wage of $21.30 plus tips. The Server plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service by partnering with fellow service professionals to ensure efficient and warm guest experiences. This requires demonstrated expertise in service techniques, the ability to manage time effectively, and the capacity to handle multiple requests simultaneously. The Server helps create an inviting atmosphere by extending sincere greetings, responding to guest needs promptly, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the menu and beverage offerings.
In this role, servers uphold Aparium's core principles of collaboration, intuition, and translocal hospitality, setting a high standard for service quality and professionalism. They participate actively in team meetings to contribute ideas and objectives, account for monetary transactions accurately, and ensure compliance with safety and legal standards, especially concerning alcohol service. The role also demands attentiveness to the cleanliness and organization of workstations, a respectful attitude toward guests and peers, and a proactive approach to reporting any physical facility issues impacting guest experience. Job Requirements
- Passion for the People, Place and Culture of our community, love of restaurants and guest service also required
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a restaurant server in either a free-standing or hotel restaurant
- Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol Servers Permit (MAST) and WA Food handler Permit within 14 days of hire
- Ability to meet local age requirements to serve alcohol
- Availability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
- Fluency in English, verbal and written
- Ability to continuously stand and/or walk for most of a shift
- Ability to lift and/or carry 30 lbs. (chair, table, tray, crate, box, etc.)
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a restaurant server in either a free-standing or hotel restaurant

Job Duties
- Uphold and model the company's principles of People, Place and Character, driving collaboration, intuition and translocal hospitality
- Assist in all aspects of a guest's experience from extending a warm greeting to executing on requests in a friendly and timely manner
- Participate in daily lineups and staff meetings to further develop ideas and objectives with the service team
- Be accountable for working knowledge of the menu
- and to serve alcohol safely, responsibly, and legally
- and accurately account for all monetary transactions during your shift
- Ensure your workstation is clean and organized, with the utmost respect for your guests, peers, and equipment
- Demonstrate an understanding of basic culinary and beverage terms and strive to know more
- Observe conditions of all physical facilities and relay any challenges to the food and beverage leadership team to make corrections and improvements as needed
- Assist in other areas of the F+B Department as needed
