Job Description
The hiring establishment is a professional dining service provider operating within a commercial kitchen and dining room environment. This company is dedicated to delivering exceptional food service experiences with attention to hygiene, safety, and customer satisfaction. As part of their team, employees play a critical role in maintaining a clean, organized, and hospitable dining atmosphere for residents and guests alike. The company prides itself on strict adherence to health regulations, sanitation standards, and emergency protocols to ensure safety and well-being of both staff and patrons. Operating in a setting where teamwork, communication, and service quality are paramount, this employer seeks dedicated individuals who are capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently and courteously.
This role involves direct interaction with residents and guests, assisting them in seating arrangements and menu selections with grace and professionalism. The position requires initiating and supervising all aspects of food and beverage service, including cold and hot beverages, salads, soups, entrees, desserts, and the final beverage service. Employees will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the dining room throughout and after meal services by clearing, resetting tables, and conducting cleanup activities such as washing dishes, sweeping, and dusting. A hands-on approach extends to supporting food preparation and monitoring supply levels to report to the Dining Services Director as needed.
The job demands strict compliance with cleaning schedules, sanitation checklists, and infection control guidelines, as outlined in the company’s training manuals and policies. Attendance at mandatory meetings is required, reflecting the employer’s commitment to ongoing education and team cohesion. Confidentiality regarding resident, community, employee, and company information is critical for protecting privacy and organizational integrity.
In terms of physical requirements, the role involves continuous standing and walking for extended periods, frequent lifting of items up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of heavier items up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to perform repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions. Employees must be able to read menus and instructions accurately, detect auditory signals related to safety, and perform physical movements such as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing as necessary.
Working in an environment with varying temperature extremes and exposure to potential hazards such as cleaning chemicals, raw food products, and biological risks, this position also necessitates the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required. This may include gloves, gowns, masks, respirators, and goggles to ensure comprehensive protection and adherence to universal precautions.
The role is suitable for candidates who possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with food service experience preferred but not mandatory. Applicants must hold a valid food handler’s permit and meet all state health, licensure, certification, and background requirements relevant to the employment location. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage repetitive work in a dynamic environment are essential. This position offers rewarding opportunities for individuals committed to excellence in hospitality and skilled in multitasking under pressure.
