Job Description

Pier Sixty-Six Resort is South Florida's shining beacon of hospitality and luxury in Fort Lauderdale. This extraordinary resort features a lush 32-acre waterfront enclave complete with a famed superyacht marina and the iconic rotating Pier-Top lounge. Pier Sixty-Six offers a premier experience with 325 impeccably designed guest rooms, suites, and villas along with 91 exclusive Private Resort Residences. We are excited to announce a career opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned Server Saltbreeze. This role is essential to the guest experience at Pier Sixty-Six, delivering warm welcomes, accurate and attentive service, and turning guest interactions into magical moments. The Server Saltbreeze will be responsible for greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and routinely checking on guest satisfaction following the prestigious hospitality standards of Pier Sixty-Six. This role uses a blend of interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and flexibility to exceed guest expectations while working in an elegant, poolside atmosphere.

The Server Saltbreeze plays a vital role in executing efficient service by setting up pool stations, maintaining cleanliness and service quality, handling cash and credit card transactions accurately, and actively communicating with kitchen staff to ensure guest dietary needs and special requests are met. The position also requires adherence to safety standards, professional appearance, and teamwork, contributing to a seamless and luxurious experience for every visitor.

Job Requirements

  • Legal age to serve alcohol
  • TIPS certification
  • Food Handler certification
  • Previous food and beverage service experience
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to assist other departments during inclement weather
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Professional appearance and grooming standards

Job Qualifications

  • Must meet the legal age requirement to serve alcohol
  • Previous experience passionately providing food and beverage service preferred
  • TIPS certification required
  • Food Handler certification required
  • Familiarity with restaurant terminology and food service techniques preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to fluently speak and write in English
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods
  • Ability to work and assist other departments in case of inclement weather
  • A people person who enjoys creating exceptional guest experiences

Job Duties

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests outlined by Pier Sixty-Six and five-star standards
  • Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Make the Manager aware of guest feedback
  • Follow specified procedures to properly set-up pool stations and perform side work daily
  • Ensure the cleanliness and condition of all glasses, dishes, utensils used in poolside service
  • Follow all Pier Sixty Six cash handling and credit card policies as they relate to InfoGenesis
  • Practice safe work habits to avoid injury to self and others
  • Answer questions and help guide guests through the menu
  • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests promptly
  • Record transaction in InfoGenesis system at time of order
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, recooking orders, product availability, meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage
  • Complete closing duties including restocking items and turning in requisitions
  • Present physical and accurate checks to guests and process payments
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Run food and bus tables during free time
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs
  • Speak with team members and guests using clear and professional language
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
  • Extend courteous salutations when guests leave the outlet and invite them to return
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
  • Monitor all guest activity in assigned work area and be alert to any sign of trouble
  • Ensure safety of guests and enforcement of pool rules and precautions according to department standards
  • Secure storage areas
  • Maintain complete knowledge of daily house count, VIPs in-house, arrivals, departures, scheduled group activities and their locations within the hotel, all hotel facilities and services, and hours of operation of each outlet
