This job opportunity is for a Food and Beverage Server at the Michael Jordan Steak House, which operates under the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts umbrella. In this role, you will report directly to the General Manager and collaborate closely with other employees to ensure exceptional guest service. Responsibilities include serving food and beverages according to established service standards, promoting the image of the restaurant through impeccable manners and diplomacy, maintaining communication with team members, and recommending specials to guests to enhance their dining experience. You will be responsible for relaying orders to the kitchen and monitoring guest satisfaction, maintaining service stations and supplies, assisting the hostess with guest greetings and seating, handling cash and bill presentation procedures, and ensuring compliance with hotel and departmental policies including hygiene, safety, service quality, and cleanliness. This position demands professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced hospitality environment. The salary range for this role is $13.14 to $14.24 per hour, reflecting the brand's commitment to fair compensation based on education, experience, skills, and organizational needs. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be able to speak and understand English
  • must be TIPS certified prior to or after hire
  • food hygiene awareness and at least basic training
  • ability to communicate in English with guests
  • ability to compute basic mathematical calculations

  • ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy

Job Duties

  • Serve food and beverage to guests in established service style and standard
  • promote image of the restaurant by displaying impeccable manners, diplomacy and tact towards guests
  • maintain constant flow of communication with and to the team
  • always recommend specials, meals, appetizers, and/or beverages to guests in an upselling manner and answer questions
  • relay orders to kitchen following established procedures
  • monitor guests to fulfill additional requests
  • maintain supplies of china, cutlery and condiments for side station, keeping station clean and orderly
  • assist hostess in guests service greeting and seating
  • communicate politely and display courtesy to guests
  • communicate to manager any difficulties, guest comments and other relevant information
  • set and clear tables ensuring standards are met
  • fold linen napkins prior to and after each shift
  • collect food and beverage orders from kitchen, return used china, glass and silver to dishwashing area
  • follow procedures on cash handling and bill presentation including audit and closing all bills correctly in Micros and depositing cashier envelopes to front desk drop safe
  • prepare and present bills according to hotel standard, closing bill immediately on computer
  • perform duties noted on daily tasks and cleaning schedule
  • comply with workplace health and safety requirements and equipment training
  • establish and maintain effective employee working relationships
  • attend and participate in daily briefings and meetings
  • attend and participate in training sessions
  • implement hotel and department regulations, policies and procedures including house rules, health and safety, grooming, quality, service, hygiene, and cleanliness
  • perform other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned
