Joining MBK Senior Living as a part-time Server means becoming a vital part of an energetic and supportive team focused on enhancing the dining experience for residents. The role is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm, providing flexible part-time employment with competitive pay between $17.50 and $18 per hour. Servers play a crucial role in fostering positive dining environments by delivering courteous and efficient service, supporting residents with meal selections, and maintaining clean and sanitary dining spaces. This position is not only about serving meals but also about creating meaningful connections and ensuring every resident feels welcomed and valued during mealtime. Job Requirements

  • Age over 18 years or have proper work permit and authorization documentation
  • exposure to restaurant operations or the ability to learn
  • background clearances as required by government regulations
  • complete health screening and provide negative TB test results within the last 6 months or within 7 days of employment
  • good communication skills in English
  • ability to operate standard serving equipment such as salad bar cart and trays
  • mindful regarding use of resources and supplies minimizing waste
  • ability to deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, and visitors
  • complete dining room training course with CCG
  • meet and maintain all state specific regulatory requirements
  • physically able to stand for long periods, bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull, and lift over 40 lbs
  • able to move intermittently throughout the work day

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in hospitality or food service preferred
  • good communication skills including speaking, writing, and reading English
  • ability to use standard serving equipment
  • good interpersonal skills and ability to work with seniors
  • ability to follow instructions and complete training programs
  • basic counting skills
  • ability to maintain professionalism and tact in various situations
  • ability to meet state specific regulatory requirements

Job Duties

  • Takes written food orders and serve meals to residents, family members and visitors in a professional, efficient and courteous manner
  • assist residents with meal/menu selections as necessary or requested
  • use proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables courteously and professionally
  • review residents dietary needs, as outlined by Supervisor
  • track resident attendance at meals and provide that information in a timely manner
  • ensure that all residents are greeted and seated properly, making extra efforts to integrate new residents
  • ensure a clean sanitary dining area and comply with all policies and procedures regarding proper handling and serving of food
  • display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, Team Members, and guests
  • aid in community marketing effort through positive interactions, dress and behavior
  • serve, clean, reset tables, return dishes to kitchen
  • other duties as assigned or directed
  • clean and set up of all dining and food service areas including stocking of condiments
  • cooperate and assist with other kitchen and dining services to ensure positive dining experience
  • report safety or equipment issues to Supervisor
