The Server role at MBK Senior Living is integral to the dining experience offered to residents. This position focuses heavily on combining high-quality customer service with efficient dining room operations to ensure resident satisfaction. Servers are responsible for taking meal orders, serving food and beverages, assisting residents with menu choices, and maintaining a clean and welcoming dining area. The role also requires staff to be tactful and friendly, helping new residents feel comfortable and valued as part of the community. Servers collaborate with dining and kitchen teams to enhance the overall dining experience while adhering to health and safety standards. This position offers a flexible schedule, including weekend and evening shifts, with compensation ranging from $15.50 to $16.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Requirements

  • Exposure to restaurant operations or ability to learn
  • Age over 18 years or proper work permit and authorization documentation
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations
  • Complete health screening and provide negative TB test results
  • Basic counting skills as required by the position
  • Good communication skills including ability to speak, write, understand, and read English
  • Ability to operate standard serving equipment
  • Must be mindful of resource use and waste minimization
  • Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and vendors
  • Completion of dining room training course with CCG
  • Must meet and maintain all state-specific regulatory requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry over 40 pounds
  • Capacity to stand for long periods and perform physical activities such as bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, and pulling

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in restaurant or food service operations is a plus
  • Good communication skills including the ability to speak, write, understand, and read English
  • Ability to operate standard serving equipment
  • Basic counting skills for tracking meals and residents
  • Completion of dining room training course with CCG
  • Familiarity with state-specific regulatory requirements is advantageous

Job Duties

  • Take written food orders and serve meals efficiently and courteously
  • Assist residents with meal and menu selections as necessary
  • Use proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables
  • Review residents dietary needs as outlined by Supervisor
  • Track resident attendance at meals and report accordingly
  • Greet and seat residents properly, integrating new residents to make them feel welcome
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary dining area in compliance with food handling policies
  • Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, team members, and guests
  • Aid in community marketing efforts through positive interactions and professional appearance
  • Serve, clean, reset tables, and return dishes to the kitchen
  • Perform cleaning and setup of dining and food service areas including stocking condiments
  • Cooperate with kitchen and dining services staff to ensure a positive dining experience
  • Report any safety or equipment issues to Supervisor
  • Assist with breaking down deliveries, putting away stock, and washing dishes
  • Deliver meals to resident rooms and collect trays as needed
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisors or the Executive Director designee
