Job Description

MBK Senior Living is a reputable senior living provider dedicated to enriching the lives of its residents and supporting its team members through a people-first philosophy. The company embraces the Japanese concept of Yoi Shigoto, which translates to "good, quality work," reflecting their commitment to building trust, setting high standards, and fostering personal and professional growth within the workplace. With over 30 years of experience, MBK Senior Living operates 35 communities offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services throughout the Western United States. The company has earned recognition as one of the Top 50 "Best Workplaces in Aging Services" by Fortune magazine and has been certified as a "Great Place to Work" since 2017.

MBK Senior Living is currently hiring for the part-time position of Server. This valuable role plays a critical part in ensuring that residents enjoy a pleasant and positive dining experience by delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining clean and welcoming dining areas. The schedule includes Thursday 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm and Friday through Monday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The server’s responsibilities include taking food orders, serving meals to residents, their families, and visitors, and assisting residents with menu selections if needed. The role demands professionalism, courteous manners, and an understanding of dietary restrictions and personal preferences to promote resident satisfaction.

Servers at MBK Senior Living work collaboratively with the dining and kitchen teams to maintain hygiene standards, manage dining room cleanliness, and stock necessary condiments while ensuring compliance with food handling policies. They must follow polite serving etiquette such as serving from the left and clearing dishes between courses. Moreover, the server fosters community spirit by welcoming new residents and helping them feel comfortable in the dining setting. Additional responsibilities include tracking resident attendance at meals, reporting safety and equipment issues, as well as aiding in the overall marketing efforts of the community through positive interpersonal interactions and adherence to grooming standards.

The position requires mobility and physical endurance as tasks involve standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling carts, and lifting up to 40 pounds. The server operates within a framework of state-specific regulations and company policies, including completing a specialized dining room training course and health screenings. MBK Senior Living invites candidates who are eager to create meaningful impacts, develop their career, and work in an engaging, supportive environment to join their team.

This role offers a competitive pay rate of $20.30 to $21.30 per hour dependent on experience, alongside a variety of benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401k matching, education loan assistance, childcare and eldercare assistance, flexible spending accounts, and team member discounts. MBK Senior Living values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing reasonable accommodations. Candidates must meet specific regulatory criteria to work in senior living communities that receive Medicare or Medicaid funding, such as not being classified as an "Excluded Party." The company prioritizes compliance with relevant healthcare laws such as HIPAA and resident rights regulations, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all residents and staff.
