Job Description
Senior Lifestyle is a leading provider in the retirement community sector, well-regarded for its commitment to creating warm, caring environments in some of Cincinnati's most beautiful senior living communities. The company prides itself on delivering high-quality services aimed at enriching the lives of its residents by fostering a culture centered around HEART values: Hospitality, Excellence, Appreciation, Respect, and Teamwork. Senior Lifestyle focuses on not just providing care but doing so with compassion and a personal touch, ensuring that every resident feels valued and supported in their daily living experience.
The role in question is that of a Food and Beverage Server within one of these premier retirement communities. This position is ideal for those who enjoy working in a team-oriented atmosphere and have a passion for service. As a Food and Beverage Server, you will be an essential part of the community atmosphere, providing swift, efficient, and pleasant food and beverage services to both residents and guests. This role requires attentiveness to the needs and preferences of service recipients, ensuring every meal experience is both timely and enjoyable. You will take food orders, communicate efficiently with kitchen staff, serve meals and beverages, and attend promptly to any resident or guest needs or special requests.
Besides the core responsibilities, you will also engage in bussing and resetting tables, completing assigned side work, and maintaining clean, organized service areas. A positive, professional demeanor at all times is crucial, as you will be representing Senior Lifestyle’s dedication to excellence and heartfelt care. While previous food service experience is preferred, it is not required, as full training will be provided to ensure all team members meet the high standards expected. Employees must also complete food safety training in line with local, state, or county regulations to maintain compliance with all food handling and sanitation licenses or certificates.
Effective communication skills in English and basic computer skills for operating POS and payroll systems are necessary. The role demands not just service delivery but also sound decision-making abilities when standard procedures may not fully apply. Flexibility, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude are essential to succeed and thrive within this position.
Senior Lifestyle values its team members and offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, short- and long-term disability coverage, and paid time off. Additionally, employees can access their earned wages through DailyPay before the standard payday. Due to public health guidelines, Senior Lifestyle requires all employees to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination unless exemption is applicable. This policy underscores the company’s commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its residents and staff alike.
