The position in focus is that of a Part-time Server who plays a pivotal role in the restaurant's customer service experience. This role requires weekend availability on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, making it ideal for individuals seeking flexible work hours yet committed to delivering exceptional service. As a Server, the individual is responsible for greeting customers, taking and accurately communicating their orders to the kitchen and bar staff, answering any questions about menu items, and providing detailed recommendations to enhance guest satisfaction. The Server also ensures quick and precise delivery of food and beverages, refills drinks, and monitors customer needs throughout the dining experience.
Additional duties include adherence to OLCC guidelines for alcohol service, handling phone orders, operating the POS system for payments, and assisting in side prep work like cutting cucumbers or refilling condiments. The Server may also work in various stations such as Tempura or Togo and collaborate closely with kitchen staff when necessary. Safety, sanitation, and cleaning responsibilities are also part of the role to maintain the high standards of the restaurant environment. The role is dynamic and hands-on, requiring stamina, multitasking skills, and a cheerful, dependable attitude. Job Requirements
- Must be available on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- must have a valid food handler and OLCC cards or obtain within 30 days
- ability to stand and walk continually throughout the entire shift
- ability to lift, carry, deliver, and serve from trays weighing up to 50 lbs
- ability to balance a serving tray with one hand
- ability to bend, stoop and reach while carrying items up to 50 lbs
- exposure to heat, steam, and cold in kitchen environment
- manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform related tasks
- ability to operate POS system and other store electronics
Job Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to set the tone and atmosphere for not only the customers but other staff members
- ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment at a consistent tempo
- must have a good and cheerful outlook
- must have a good understanding of menu
- must be dependable and have a good attendance record
- ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- must be able to follow all health and safety policies and procedures
- must be able to operate a Point of Sale (POS) system, and other electronics in the store such as an iPad
- must have a valid food handler and OLCC cards, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
- must be able to function in the support delivery, primary server, secondary server, server help, Togo, prep/delivery, and tempura stations
Job Duties
- Greets and seats customers
- answers questions about the menu and makes recommendations, including upselling
- accurately takes orders and communicates them to the kitchen staff
- understands and communicates any food allergies or special instructions to the kitchen staff
- follows OLCC guidelines for alcohol orders and service
- answers the phone and takes orders
- ensures that all orders are filled quickly and accurately, and that the food is high quality
- provides attentive service to customers, such as refilling drinks as needed and checking on guests needs during the meal and updating them on the status of their order
- promptly addresses any customer service issues and refers them to the appropriate person if necessary
- performs cleaning and sanitation duties, such as server station and tables
- taking and processing customer payments using a POS system
- operates all functions of the POS system including discounts and rewards
- completes side prep work such as cutting cucumbers, refilling condiments, and doing dishes
- packs up to go orders and ringing out customers
- works in the Tempura station as needed
