The Server position at Momiji is a vital role that directly enhances the dining experience of its patrons. Servers, often called food servers, waiters, or waitresses, act as the front line of communication between guests and the kitchen. This role requires individuals to greet customers warmly, answer questions about the menu, suggest items or specials, and accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen staff. Additionally, servers are responsible for ensuring that all orders are prepared and delivered promptly and with high quality. This position demands strong interpersonal skills, efficiency in multitasking, and the ability to uphold health and safety standards. Servers also ensure compliance with OLCC guidelines when serving alcohol. The role involves operating a POS (Point of Sale) system for processing payments and managing discounts or rewards, as well as handling to-go orders and participating in side prep work. Physical stamina is necessary as this job requires standing, walking for the entire shift, and handling trays or items weighing up to 50 pounds. This role is essential to maintaining the welcoming atmosphere Momiji is known for and delivering outstanding service that keeps customers returning. Candidates must be available on weekends, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, to support peak business hours and maintain service quality throughout busy shifts. Job Requirements

  • Must be available on weekends (Friday Saturday Sunday)
  • Ability to stand and walk continually throughout the entire shift
  • Ability to lift carry deliver and serve from trays weighing up to 50 lbs throughout entire shift
  • Ability to balance a serving tray with one hand and distribute food with the other
  • Ability to bend stoop and reach while carrying items up to 50 lbs
  • Exposure to extreme heat steam and cold present in a kitchen environment
  • Must have manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks
  • This position is not eligible for telework flex schedule or additional holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to set the tone and atmosphere for customers and staff
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment at a consistent tempo
  • Must have a good and cheerful outlook
  • Must have a good understanding of menu
  • Must be dependable and have a good attendance record
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Must be able to follow all health and safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to operate a Point of Sale (POS) system and other electronics such as an iPad
  • Must have a valid food handler and OLCC cards or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to function in support delivery primary server secondary server server help togo prep delivery and tempura stations

Job Duties

  • Greets and seats customers
  • Answers questions about the menu and makes recommendations including upselling
  • Accurately takes orders and communicates them to the kitchen staff
  • Understands and communicates any food allergies or special instructions to the kitchen staff
  • Follows OLCC guidelines for alcohol orders and service
  • Answers the phone and takes orders
  • Ensures that all orders are filled quickly and accurately and that the food is high quality
  • Provides attentive service to customers such as refilling drinks and checking on guests needs during the meal
  • Promptly addresses any customer service issues and refers them to the appropriate person if necessary
  • Performs cleaning and sanitation duties such as server station and tables
  • Takes and processes customer payments using a POS system
  • Operates all functions of the POS system including discounts and rewards
  • Completes side prep work such as cutting cucumbers refilling condiments and doing dishes
  • Packs up to go orders and rings out customers
  • Works in the Tempura station as needed
