Momiji is a dynamic and rapidly expanding sushi restaurant and bar that began its journey in 2010 as a modest establishment with just 5 tables. The role of Server at Momiji is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of customer satisfaction and operational excellence that the restaurant is known for. A Server, also referred to as a Food Server, Waiter, or Waitress, is responsible for a variety of duties that ensure guests have an enjoyable dining experience. This includes greeting and seating customers, answering questions about the menu, making informed recommendations, taking accurate orders, and effectively communicating these orders to the kitchen staff. Servers must also be vigilant about dietary restrictions and special instructions, ensuring that all needs are met in a timely and professional manner. In this role, adherence to measures such as OLCC guidelines for alcohol service is essential, along with performing customary duties such as taking phone orders and managing payments using the Point of Sale (POS) system.

Servers at Momiji are expected to provide attentive and friendly service, which involves refilling drinks, checking on guests during their meals, and promptly addressing any service issues that arise. The position also includes responsibilities such as cleaning and sanitation of serving stations and tables to uphold health and safety standards. Additionally, Servers may assist with side preparation work, handle to-go orders, and work in specialized stations like Tempura when needed. Job Duties

  • Greets and seats customers
  • answers questions about the menu and makes recommendations including upselling
  • accurately takes orders and communicates them to the kitchen staff
  • understands and communicates any food allergies or special instructions to kitchen staff
  • follows OLCC guidelines for alcohol orders and service
  • answers the phone and takes orders
  • ensures all orders are filled quickly and accurately and food is high quality
  • provides attentive service such as refilling drinks and checking on guests needs during the meal
  • promptly addresses customer service issues and refers them to the appropriate person
  • performs cleaning and sanitation duties such as server station and tables
  • takes and processes customer payments using a POS system
  • operates all functions of POS including discounts and rewards
  • completes side prep work such as cutting cucumbers and refilling condiments
  • packs up to go orders and rings out customers
  • works in the Tempura station as needed
  • assists kitchen staff as needed
  • cleans outside server area and dishes
  • performs other duties as assigned
