The Server role at Momiji is a vital position that contributes significantly to the dining experience customers enjoy. The role entails being knowledgeable about the menu, answering patrons' questions, taking food and drink orders, and ensuring these orders are communicated efficiently to the kitchen. Servers are responsible for greeting and seating customers, making thoughtful recommendations including upselling where appropriate, and ensuring guests have a memorable visit. The position requires someone who is attentive, proactive, and skilled at managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Roles include explaining menu items, managing food allergies, following alcohol service regulations, and processing payments using the POS system. In addition to service duties, Servers at Momiji assist with cleaning and prep tasks, ensure orders are delivered promptly and accurately, and serve as a central point of contact between guests and kitchen staff. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a food service role preferred
  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout entire shift
  • Ability to lift and carry trays weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to balance a serving tray with one hand
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach while carrying items
  • Must have manual dexterity for cutting and chopping foods
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Must comply with all health and safety standards

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment at a consistent tempo
  • Must have a good and cheerful outlook
  • Must have a good understanding of menu
  • Must be dependable and have a good attendance record
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Must be able to follow all health and safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to operate a Point of Sale system and other electronics such as an iPad
  • Must have a valid food handler and OLCC cards or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Must be able to function in support delivery, primary server, secondary server, server help, to-go, prep/delivery, and tempura stations

Job Duties

  • Greets and seats customers
  • Answers questions about the menu and makes recommendations including upselling
  • Accurately takes orders and communicates them to kitchen staff
  • Understands and communicates any food allergies or special instructions to kitchen staff
  • Follows OLCC guidelines for alcohol orders and service
  • Answers the phone and takes orders
  • Ensures all orders are filled quickly and accurately and that the food is high quality
  • Provides attentive service such as refilling drinks, checking on guests, and updating on order status
  • Addresses customer service issues promptly and refers to appropriate personnel
  • Performs cleaning and sanitation duties including server station and tables
  • Takes and processes customer payments using POS system
  • Operates all functions of POS including discounts and rewards
  • Completes side prep work such as cutting cucumbers, refilling condiments, and doing dishes
  • Packs up to-go orders and rings out customers
  • Works in the Tempura station as needed
