Momiji is a dynamic and rapidly expanding sushi restaurant and bar that began in 2010 as a small establishment with just five tabletops. The server position at Momiji is a key role within the restaurant, responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service to patrons. The server acts as a primary point of contact for guests, offering friendly greetings, detailed menu explanations, and prompt order taking. This role requires clear communication with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure orders are precise and meet customer expectations. Servers are also responsible for maintaining a positive dining atmosphere by responding to customer inquiries, managing special dietary requests, and following regulatory guidelines such as those set by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) for alcohol service.
Servers at Momiji play a vital role in upholding the restaurant's commitment to quality and hospitality. Duties include balancing the delivery of food and beverages, utilizing the POS system for order processing and payments, handling to-go orders, assisting with prep work, and participating in cleaning and sanitation routines. In addition to the core service functions, servers may support kitchen staff during busy times or take on specialized tasks such as working in the tempura station. This position demands a cheerful attitude, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a strong team spirit. It is also essential for servers to have a valid food handler's card and OLCC certification or to be willing to obtain these certifications shortly after hire.

Job Requirements
- Must have a valid food handler card
- must have a valid OLCC card or obtain within 30 days
- must be able to stand and walk continually throughout the entire shift
- must be able to lift carry deliver and serve from trays weighing up to 50 lbs throughout entire shift
- must have manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks
- must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- must be dependable and have a good attendance record
- must be able to operate a POS system
- must be able to follow health and safety policies
- must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively

- must have a valid food handler and OLCC cards or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
- must be able to function in the support delivery primary server secondary server server help togo prep delivery and tempura stations
Job Duties
- Greets and seats customers
- answers questions about the menu and makes recommendations including upselling
- accurately takes orders and communicates them to the kitchen staff
- understands and communicates any food allergies or special instructions to the kitchen staff
- follows OLCC guidelines for alcohol orders and service
- answers the phone and takes orders
- ensures that all orders are filled quickly and accurately and that the food is high quality
- provides attentive service to customers such as refilling drinks as needed and checking on guests needs during the meal and updating them on the status of their order
- promptly addresses any customer service issues and refers them to the appropriate person if necessary
- performs cleaning and sanitation duties such as server station and tables
- taking and processing customer payments using a POS system
- operates all functions of the POS system including discounts and rewards
- completes side prep work such as cutting cucumbers refilling condiments and doing dishes
- packs up to go orders and ringing out customers
- works in the tempura station as needed
- assists the kitchen staff as needed
- cleans outside of server area and dishes as needed
- other duties as assigned
