The Server position at Momiji is a crucial role focused on enhancing the customer dining experience from start to finish. Servers act as the primary point of contact for guests, responsible for greeting and seating customers, answering questions about the menu, making informed recommendations, and efficiently taking and delivering orders. This role requires excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with kitchen staff, especially regarding food allergies or special instructions, and to ensure adherence to alcohol service guidelines. In addition to delivering high-quality food and drink orders promptly, Servers are tasked with providing attentive service by refilling drinks, checking on guest needs, and addressing any issues that may arise during the dining experience. Furthermore, Servers handle POS system operations, including processing payments and managing discounts and rewards, as well as assisting with side prep work, packing to-go orders, and supporting various service stations like Tempura when necessary. Job Requirements
- Must have a valid food handler and OLCC cards, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
- Ability to stand and walk continually throughout the entire shift
- Ability to lift, carry, deliver, and serve from trays weighing up to 50 lbs throughout entire shift
- Ability to balance a serving tray with one hand and distribute food with the other
- Ability to bend, stoop and reach while carrying items up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to follow all health and safety policies and procedures
- Ability to operate a Point of Sale (POS) system and other electronics
- Must be dependable and have a good attendance record
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- Must be able to function in various service stations including support delivery, primary server, secondary server, server help, Togo, prep/delivery, and tempura stations
- Must have excellent customer service skills and a cheerful outlook

- Must be able to function in the Support delivery, primary server, secondary server, server help, Togo, prep/delivery, and tempura stations
Job Duties
- Greets and seats customers
- Answers questions about the menu and makes recommendations, including upselling
- Accurately takes orders and communicates them to the kitchen staff
- Understands and communicates any food allergies or special instructions to the kitchen staff
- Follows OLCC guidelines for alcohol orders and service
- Answers the phone and takes orders
- Ensures that all orders are filled quickly and accurately, and that the food is high quality
- Provides attentive service to customers, such as refilling drinks as needed and checking on guests needs during the meal and updating them on the status of their order
- Promptly addresses any customer service issues and refers them to the appropriate person if necessary
- Performs cleaning and sanitation duties, such as server station and tables
- Taking and processing customer payments using a POS system
- Operates all functions of the POS system including discounts and rewards
- Completes side prep work such as cutting cucumbers, refilling condiments, and doing dishes
- Packs up to go orders and ringing out customers
- Works in the Tempura station as needed
- Assists the kitchen staff as needed
- Cleans outside of server area and dishes as needed
- Other duties as assigned
