Job Qualifications

- proficient in manual dexterity tasks
- able to perform pushing, bending, stooping, and reaching
- strong hearing, writing, and typing skills
- prior food service experience preferred
- knowledge of proper serving etiquette
- experience using point of sale systems
- excellent customer service and communication skills
- ability to work in fast-paced environment
- basic familiarity with food and wine menus
Job Duties
- Greet all guests warmly and enthusiastically
- assist host or hostess in seating guests
- present menu and answer questions
- make suggestions regarding food, service, wines, and preparation
- memorize menu selections and daily specials
- use proper serving etiquette including serving ladies first
- write or memorize orders and relay them to kitchen and bar using point of sale system
- observe guests to fulfill additional requests and perceive meal completion
- total bills and accept payments or refer guests to cashier
- ladle soup, portion pies and desserts, brew coffee
- clear and reset counters or tables after each course
- assist in cleaning and wiping service and prep areas
- notify manager immediately of guest complaints
- use proper telephone etiquette
- assist service personnel in duties as requested
- maintain and follow cash handling procedures
- practice and observe all safety rules and procedures
