The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, formerly known as the Millennium Hotel, is a renowned hospitality establishment located on the picturesque shores of Lake Spenard in Anchorage, Alaska. This hotel is perfectly positioned just one mile from the Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, making it an ideal base for guests to explore the beautiful surroundings and attractions that Alaska offers. The hotel is currently seeking a part-time seasonal Server to join their dedicated team. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards for which the hotel is known and plays a vital part in delivering a memorable dining experience to guests. The Server will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring a professional yet friendly demeanor at all times. As a Server, the selected candidate will be tasked with greeting guests promptly, providing attentive service, and ensuring that each visitor's needs are met with courtesy and efficiency. The position demands excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
The Server will be responsible for taking accurate food and beverage orders, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining areas, and upholding the hotel's service standards. Understanding menu offerings, including food preparation and presentation, is important for enhancing the guest experience. The role also requires operating point of sale (POS) systems to enter orders and process payments accurately. Job Requirements
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- Must have knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service-ware and menu items
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, record orders, and communicate with guests to explain and record orders
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
- Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures to pre-check order and close out the check
- Patience, tact and diplomacy
- Requires lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Prior hospitality experience preferred
- Ability to obtain TIPS certification
- Guest attentiveness and a neat appearance
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Work as a productive team member by contributing positive energy
- Perform the duties of the position in a safe manner
- Be professional in all interactions with guests and associates

Job Duties
- Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness
- Greet the guests in a friendly, courteous manner within 30 seconds of being seated and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions for guest awareness
- Record the details of the order from the guests, repeating the order to the guest to check for accuracy
- Input the order into the Point of Sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars in the order being placed
- Present the check to guest promptly and collect payment
- Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction
- Be knowledgeable about all Food & Beverage products served
