Job Description

Avery Point by Erickson Senior Living is a beautiful 94-acre continuing care retirement community situated in Short Pump, Virginia, just minutes away from downtown Richmond. It is part of a rapidly growing national network of communities managed by Erickson Senior Living, one of the largest and most respected providers of senior living and health care in the United States. Avery Point focuses on helping residents live better lives by ensuring a vibrant lifestyle, maintaining financial stability, and providing focused health and well-being services for both residents and staff. With a supportive work environment, Avery Point values diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging, aligning with its mission, vision, and core values. Working here means you become part of a community dedicated to quality of life and professional growth, alongside access to opportunities to learn and develop your skills within a growing company expanding across multiple communities.

The position available is an entry-level server role offering an excellent career launchpad for students or individuals seeking flexible work schedules that fit their school or life commitments. The job includes after-school and weekend hours with no late nights, as most servers finish their shifts before 9:00 PM. Compensation ranges from $14 to $15 per hour, based on experience. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in the hospitality and food service industry within a senior living community environment. Working as a server here involves learning about menu items, daily specials, and preparation techniques to become a knowledgeable expert able to assist and engage with residents and guests thoughtfully.

You will be responsible for enhancing guests' dining experiences by sharing daily menu highlights, suggesting tailored recommendations, recording orders accurately, and ensuring consistent excellence in service delivery. This opportunity encourages professional development and the chance to grow with the company as it expands. Benefits include flexible scheduling for students, free meals during shifts, scholarships for qualifying individuals to support their college or trade school education, paid time off, onsite wellness and sick care through company medical centers for team members over 18, and a culture that promotes employee well-being and growth. Erickson Senior Living, including Avery Point, is committed to equal employment opportunities, fostering a workplace free from unlawful discrimination or harassment, making it a welcoming environment for all employees.
