Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Previous experience in similar position of 3 months or longer
  • Basic knowledge of customer service principles
  • Knowledge of standard cash-handling procedures
  • Fluency in oral and written English
  • Vision ability to see detailed guest checks and written instructions clearly
  • Manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items, and balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Mobility to travel up to 300 feet regularly
  • Capability to stand for extended periods
  • Moderate hearing ability to communicate and hear customers and staff
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to use tact and understanding when handling customer service issues
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Previous experience in similar position of 3 months or longer
  • Basic knowledge of customer service principles, the food server function and restaurant and kitchen operations
  • Knowledge of standard cash-handling procedures
  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • Ability to see detailed guest checks and written instructions clearly
  • Manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items, and balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages

Job Duties

  • Greets and takes food and drink orders from restaurant customers, serving the orders and accommodating special needs requests
  • Remains attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards established by the restaurant
  • Completes all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing sidework as instructed
  • Memorizes menu items, recipes and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations
  • Maintains cleanliness standards in restaurant, waitstation and kitchen service area
  • Controls guest checks by following established check-use procedures and documents all required information
  • Receives proper payment from guests and ensures accuracy of guest check and method of payment
  • Attends all pre-meal and departmental meetings to enhance communication and product knowledge
  • Responds to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone providing timely and knowledgeable information
  • Presents a clean and professional appearance and maintains a friendly, courteous demeanor
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
