Job Description

SSP America is a leading operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations such as airports and train stations, known for providing high-quality service and exceptional dining experiences to travelers around the globe. Operating in the Portland International Airport, SSP America manages a diverse portfolio of popular restaurant brands including Deschutes Brewery, Hopworks Urban Brewery, Juliett, Good Coffee, Oven & Shaker, among others. These uniquely branded establishments are celebrated for their handcrafted beverages and delicious food offerings, attracting a wide variety of guests including business travelers, tourists, and local patrons.

As a full-time Server within SSP America's Portland International Airport restaurants, you will play a critical role in delivering excellent customer service. This position offers hourly pay starting at $16.30 plus tips and involves working closing shifts with set schedules. Servers are expected to have open weekend availability to meet the dynamic demands of the airport dining environment. To support ease of commute, employees receive a free monthly TriMet pass or free parking.

As a Server, your primary responsibility is to engage guests warmly and efficiently, making them feel welcomed while expertly guiding them through the menu. Your knowledge of the handcrafted beverages and food allows you to be a suggestive seller, enhancing guests' dining experience and increasing sales. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintaining accuracy and professionalism while inputting guest orders into the point of sale system and handling transactions correctly. Proper setup and cleanliness of the restaurant area are essential duties that you consistently uphold to meet health and safety standards.

Additionally, this role requires strict adherence to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations, especially regarding the responsible serving of alcoholic beverages. You will be vigilant in ensuring that alcohol is not served to minors or intoxicated guests. Beyond serving, you will assist with general cleaning tasks using standard products as assigned to maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and team members.

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner
  • input orders into register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest
  • receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed
  • maintain proper and adequate set-up of restaurant at all times
  • adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests at all times
  • perform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
  • other duties as assigned
