This role is for a Food and Beverage Server at the Sheraton located at 39 Dalton St, Boston, Massachusetts. The position is full-time and non-management, offering an hourly wage between $22.69 and $24.47, plus tips. The Food and Beverage Server plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences by serving food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner. Responsibilities include setting tables according to the type of event and company service standards, answering guest queries about menu selections, and maintaining clear communication with the kitchen staff regarding menu details, wait times, and special dietary requirements such as allergies or other meal modifications. The Server is expected to record transactions accurately using the MICROS system at the time of order and check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction.
Maintaining the cleanliness of work areas and service utensils is critical, along with completing closing duties such as restocking items and shutting down service areas. The Server is responsible for presenting accurate bills to guests and processing payments efficiently. Compliance with all company safety and security policies is mandatory, including reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions to management, and completing necessary safety training. The role demands maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality concerning proprietary company information.
Guest interaction is a key component of this position; Servers are expected to warmly welcome guests, anticipate their needs, provide assistance as necessary, including for guests with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation for their patronage. - complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.
