Job Requirements

  • At least two years of serving experience
  • open availability including lunches, weekdays, and weekends
  • ability to work 30-40 hours weekly
  • kindness and a positive, engaging, and smiling attitude
  • reliable and mature with ability to remain relaxed under pressure
  • responsible and cares about the restaurant
  • willingness to upsell
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • knowledge or experience in a Japanese restaurant is a plus
  • must inform management of food allergies
  • eligible to obtain SafeServe and Alcohol Serving certifications

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • two years of serving experience required
  • SafeServe and Alcohol Serving certifications required (can be obtained during training)
  • knowledge of Japanese cuisine is a plus
  • display a positive and friendly attitude at all times
  • maintain a professional demeanor
  • ability to provide excellent customer service
  • educate customers about products and processes
  • make recommendations
  • adhere to food allergy policies
  • handle food safely and hygienically
  • work well in a team
  • communicate effectively under pressure
  • memorize a detailed menu
  • operate a point-of-sale system
  • hold a tray including drinks
  • solve basic math problems
  • willingness to take professional instructions

Job Duties

  • Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner
  • answer customers' questions
  • inform and educate customers about the menu and products
  • upsell food and beverage items
  • take accurate food and beverage orders and process payments
  • learn the entire menu thoroughly
  • perform side job duties before, during, and after shifts
  • work collaboratively with team members to meet customer needs
  • serve alcoholic beverages responsibly
