The Server plays a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience by delivering attentive and knowledgeable service to guests, guiding them through the menu and beverage selections with expertise and grace. The Server is responsible for accurate order taking, prompt and proper delivery of food and beverages, guest engagement, and the seamless management of tables. Collaboration with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager ensures that service standards and responsible alcohol policies are strictly adhered to. In addition to serving, the Server must be conversant with California wines, craft cocktails, and food options, capable of making thoughtful recommendations tailored to individual guest preferences.

This full-time role requires a candidate with at least three years of experience in a similarly elevated and fast-paced bistro or restaurant environment. The candidate must hold or obtain certification such as the California Food Handler Card and California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification within the specified timeframe. The position emphasizes the importance of clear communication skills, physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods, and the ability to carry moderate loads. Familiarity with POS systems is preferred to facilitate efficient and accurate order processing. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods often for the duration of a shift
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate loads typically up to 35 pounds such as trays, glass racks, and supplies
  • Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Frequent interaction with guests and staff including clear verbal communication

Job Qualifications

  • California Food Handler Card required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification required within 60 days of hire
  • Minimum of 3 years of serving experience in a full-service, fast-paced, elevated bistro or restaurant environment
  • Good working knowledge of California wines and craft cocktails, with the ability to make recommendations and pairings
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, elevated bistro environment with a genuine passion for food, beverage, and hospitality
  • POS experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet and serve guests warmly, attentively, and professionally throughout the dining experience
  • Guide guests through the menu, offering food and beverage recommendations and pairings
  • Take accurate orders and enter them correctly into the POS system
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and to standard, anticipating guest needs
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and escalate to management when necessary
  • Maintain strong knowledge of California wines, craft cocktails, and the food menu
  • Serve alcohol responsibly in compliance with California ABC laws and RBS requirements
