As part of the larger Avera Health system, known for its commitment to moving health forward, this facility emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach where every team member plays a vital role in patient well-being. The location offers a supportive and mission-driven workplace where employees contribute meaningfully to improving health outcomes, fostering an environment of respect, hospitality, and stewardship. The employment type for this opening is PRN (pro re nata or as needed), offering flexible work hours across rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. The pay rate ranges from $17.50 to $21.50 per hour, with the exact pay dependent on the candidate's experience. The position specifically highlights working Monday through Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with additional requirements for every other weekend and holiday shifts.

This role involves critical responsibilities essential to meal preparation and service within the skilled nursing setting, directly contributing to resident satisfaction and nutritional care compliance. The primary duties include accurately assembling meal trays and performing dishwashing duties according to sanitation standards to maintain a hygienic food service environment. The worker supports food tray line set-up, proper food storage, and ensures that all food servings align with the dietary restrictions of residents. Attention to detail, sanitation adherence, and time management are key components of this job, along with assisting the Production Cook with light meal preparation tasks such as making sandwiches and opening canned goods. The position requires following simple recipes, HACCP food safety guidelines, and proper handwashing techniques to uphold departmental sanitation and food safety standards. Team members in this role also execute daily cleaning schedules and maintain cleanliness in the dishroom and related food service areas. This supportive yet hands-on role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who value working closely with a healthcare team focused on compassionate resident care while maintaining high sanitation and food safety standards. The position calls for commitment to the organization's mission and values, with expectations related to communication, confidentiality, and teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Avera Health ensures equal employment opportunities, promotes diversity, and provides reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities during the application process.
