Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a distinguished hospitality company known for blending the finest aspects of Napa Valley wine culture with a modern, casual dining experience. Established in 2005, Cooper's Hawk features a Napa-style tasting room complete with wine-inspired retail offerings, a full-service restaurant, bar, and versatile private event spaces that cater to a wide array of customer needs. The brand has successfully introduced a unique lifestyle experience that celebrates exceptional food and award-winning wines, intertwined with an inviting atmosphere that promotes connection and enjoyment. Cooper's Hawk is also home to one of the largest wine clubs in the world, providing exclusive member benefits such as curated dining, luxury travel experiences, and special access to limited-edition wines. Additionally, the company has expanded its culinary horizons through Piccolo Buco by Cooper’s Hawk, which brings the vibrant and authentic flavors of Rome to its guests, enhancing the diversity and richness of the dining experience.
The role of Server at Cooper's Hawk transcends traditional waitstaff duties; servers are vital ambassadors who curate unforgettable experiences for guests with uncompromising hospitality. Unlike typical order takers, Cooper's Hawk servers are expected to build genuine connections, delight customers through warm and thoughtful interaction, and elevate every visit beyond just a meal to create lasting memories. This employment opportunity comes with an hourly wage of $3.63 plus tips, reflecting the company’s recognition of excellent service paired with tip earnings.
Servers are deeply involved in guiding guests confidently and knowledgeably through the extensive menu, including food and wine selections, as well as educating and promoting the exclusive Wine Club. They also play an essential role as team players who maintain communication with kitchen staff, bartenders, hosts, and managers, ensuring smooth service operations. Their responsibilities include mastering use of the point-of-sale system, handling transactions accurately, and following strict alcohol service guidelines. Cooper’s Hawk encourages servers to show initiative by anticipating guest needs, solving issues proactively, and adding personal touches to create distinct and memorable guest experiences.
The company invests significantly in its team members by offering a comprehensive benefits package that includes generous dining and wine discounts, monthly wine tastings for two, medical, dental, vision, and telehealth services, 401(k) plans with company match, paid time off, flexibility in scheduling, early pay access, wellness and mental health support, wine and culinary education, career growth plans, and numerous team rewards such as milestone recognition and referral bonuses. These perks are designed not only to attract talented hospitality professionals but also to nurture and retain them through a supportive and enriching work environment.
Successful candidates for the server position must be at least 21 years old with six months of server experience, ideally in full-service or upscale casual dining. They should possess a passion for hospitality, exceptional multitasking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm demeanor. Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods is required. Flexibility to work weekends and some holidays is necessary, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in English.
Cooper's Hawk is committed to equal employment opportunity, providing reasonable accommodations during all stages of the hiring process, and fostering a workplace free from discrimination. The role of Server at Cooper’s Hawk is more than a job; it is a gateway to growing within a dynamic company that honors quality, community, and genuine human connection through every guest interaction.
