Job Requirements
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs for up to 75 percent of the time
- Capability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, and finger during the shift
- Mobility to travel up to 300 feet regularly throughout the shift
- Capacity to stand continuously during preparation and service hours
- Moderate hearing ability to communicate with customers and staff
- Excellent vision to ensure proper preparation and presentation of food
- Moderate comprehension and literacy to read and use records and special requests
- Ability to multitask and follow verbal and written instructions
- Highly organized with attention to detail in busy and noisy environments
- Use tact and understanding when addressing customer service problems, including stressful situations
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar serving position for three months or longer
- Basic knowledge of customer service principles and restaurant operations
- Familiarity with standard cash-handling procedures
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Ability to memorize menu items and specials
- Strong manual coordination to handle trays and service items
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure
Job Duties
- Greet and take food and drink orders from restaurant customers, serving the orders and accommodating special needs or requests
- Remain attentive to customers throughout the dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards
- Complete restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing sidework
- Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations
- Maintain cleanliness standards in restaurant, waitstation, and kitchen service areas
- Control allocated guest checks by following check-use procedures and documenting all required information
- Receive payment from guests and ensure accuracy of guest checks and payment methods
- Attend pre-meal and departmental meetings to enhance communication and product knowledge
- Respond to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone promptly
- Present a professional and clean appearance
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
