In the role of Server at Morrison Living, team members play a critical role in delivering outstanding service within the dining area. Servers are responsible for taking accurate food and beverage orders, efficiently delivering meals, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety. This position requires engaging warmly with guests, understanding menu details—including ingredients, allergens, and specialized diets—and providing personalized recommendations that enhance the dining experience. Successful servers contribute to a positive atmosphere by collaborating seamlessly with kitchen staff and other departments, supporting special events, and ensuring dining spaces are clean, well-prepared, and inviting before and after service times.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
follow up periodically to assist guests with additional needs or requests
demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on food and drink combinations
accommodate reasonable requests and note guest preferences
demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct orders and accommodate special requests
exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to work well with others
remain flexible and patient when interacting with guests and staff
collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared
promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisors
ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods
operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
work with staff of other departments to perform duties during special events and functions
perform other duties as assigned
