Job Description

RiverWoods Manchester is part of the RiverWoods Group, Northern New England's largest family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs). Established in 1994, RiverWoods Group operates with a core philosophy aimed at making life better for older adults through community, care, and peace of mind. The organization fosters a vibrant environment where older adults can enjoy a productive and rewarding life, enriched by social connections and supportive services. RiverWoods creates welcoming, attractive, and safe communities where employees and residents alike find respect, purpose, and belonging. The group operates three communities under one philosophy dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its residents and providing peace of mind through outstanding care and services.

RiverWoods Manchester is seeking a Full-time Server to become an integral part of its culinary services team. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy interacting with people and providing excellent customer service in a dynamic, fun, and creative environment. Servers at RiverWoods play a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience for residents by delivering attentive and personalized service in both the Bistro and fine dining restaurant settings. The role involves working a mix of shifts that include days, evenings, and weekends, allowing flexibility but also requiring availability during these times.

The starting wage for this full-time position is competitive at $17 per hour, emphasizing the company’s commitment to fair compensation. Additionally, employees who join RiverWoods enjoy robust benefits such as medical and dental insurance available within 30 days of employment, a 403(b) retirement plan that includes a company match, and earned time off starting at 15 days per year. There are also six paid holidays and four personal days provided, along with wellness programs and on-site fitness opportunities to support employee health and well-being. The employee meal program and education assistance further demonstrate RiverWoods’ investment in the growth and satisfaction of their team members.

In this serving role, the successful candidate will provide excellent customer service to residents as they enjoy their meals, whether dining in-house or picking up to-go orders. Responsibilities include taking meal orders using tablet software, assisting with the packaging of to-go meals, setting and clearing tables, and performing opening and closing side work such as rolling utensils and cleaning silverware and glassware. Maintaining strong communication and a close working relationship with Dining Room Managers and Hosts/Hostesses is essential to ensuring resident satisfaction and smooth operation of dining services.

This position is accessible to individuals without previous experience in food service, with a minimum age requirement of 16 years. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking meaningful work that contributes to the well-being of others while being part of a supportive and mission-driven organization. With its focus on making things better every day for residents and employees alike, RiverWoods offers a fulfilling career path in a caring community setting. If you want a role with purpose, a positive team culture, and opportunities for personal and professional growth, RiverWoods Manchester welcomes your application.
