Job Description

The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, formerly known as the Millennium Hotel, is a distinguished hospitality establishment nestled on the picturesque shores of Lake Spenard. Located just one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from the vibrant downtown Anchorage area, the hotel offers an ideal gateway for guests eager to explore the natural beauty and cultural attractions of Alaska. The hotel boasts 248 well-appointed rooms and features three exceptional food and beverage outlets, providing guests with a variety of dining options amid stunning lakefront views. Known for its commitment to guest satisfaction and memorable experiences, The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel blends the charm of Alaskan hospitality with modern conveniences and amenities, making it a preferred destination for both leisure and business travelers alike.

We are currently seeking a full-time Server to join our dynamic food and beverage team. This role demands professionalism, politeness, and courtesy at all times while working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be the face of our dining service, greeting guests promptly and attentively, and fulfilling their requests to ensure a personalized and exceptional dining experience. The Server will expertly take food and beverage orders, maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, and monitor guest satisfaction to provide top-tier service consistently. Working closely with kitchen staff through order input using the Point of Sale system, the Server will ensure accuracy and timeliness of order delivery. This position also requires knowledge of our menu items, food and beverage preparation, appropriate table settings, and service ware.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of guest relations, etiquette, and hospitality standards. They must have excellent communication skills in English to effectively take orders, explain menu specials and promotions, and interact comfortably with guests and team members alike. The ability to operate POS systems efficiently is essential, along with physical stamina to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Prior experience in hospitality is preferred, and obtaining TIPS certification is required to maintain our high service standards.

Beyond the operational duties, the Server role at The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel demands a positive attitude, patience, tact, and diplomacy. The candidate will contribute to a productive team environment by bringing positive energy and professionalism to every interaction. Working safely and maintaining a neat, professional appearance is critical to representing the hotel’s esteemed reputation. Our hotel values safety, guest attentiveness, and exceptional customer service, and the Server is a pivotal member in delivering these core values.

As part of our team, the Server will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401k plan with employer contributions. The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We uphold a drug-free policy with mandatory pre-employment drug testing and criminal background checks. Our participation in the E-Verify program ensures employment eligibility compliance.

This job posting outlines the general responsibilities and skills required for the Server position and does not encompass every task or duty that may be performed. We encourage qualified candidates who are enthusiastic about delivering unparalleled service in a beautiful Alaskan setting to apply online and join our welcoming and professional team.
