The Server role at Trapper's Sushi is vital to maintaining the restaurant's reputation for excellence. Serving as the key ambassador of the Trapper's Sushi experience, the Server is responsible for delivering attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm service to guests from the moment they are seated until they leave. This role involves guiding guests through the menu with confidence, making informed recommendations, and ensuring that food and drink orders are accurate and delivered timely. This position offers competitive pay starting at $17.13 per hour plus tips, making it an attractive opportunity for both entry-level and experienced individuals in the hospitality industry. The Server position requires strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment. Ideal candidates will have solid verbal communication skills, a friendly and professional demeanor, and an ability to learn and share detailed knowledge about menu offerings such as sushi, sashimi, and specialty rolls. Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods, frequent bending and reaching, carrying trays and to-go bags weighing up to 25 pounds, and exposure to kitchen heat, noise, and varying dining room temperatures. Compliance with safety and cleanliness standards, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment, is essential. Employees must also hold a valid Food Handler’s Permit/State Food Worker Card and meet legal requirements for serving alcohol in Washington state, highlighting the company's commitment to safety and regulatory adherence.

Job Requirements
- Previous serving, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred but not required
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail when taking orders, delivering food, and processing payments
- Comfort learning and discussing menu items including sushi, sashimi, and specialty rolls
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must obtain a valid Food Handler's Permit/State Food Worker Card prior to the first day of work per state law
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol per Washington state law with MAST permit required or obtained prior to first day if applicable

Job Duties
- Greet guests promptly upon seating with warmth, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to create a memorable experience
- Guide guests through the menu, answering questions about ingredients, preparation, allergens, and recommendations with confidence
- Take accurate food and drink orders and enter them into the POS system efficiently
- Deliver food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation meet Trapper's standards
- Anticipate guest needs throughout the meal, including refills, additional courses, and special requests
- Process payments, handle cash/card transactions, and follow all cash-handling procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, server stations, and side work areas
- Communicate clearly with hosts, fellow servers, managers, sushi chefs, and kitchen staff regarding orders, timing, and special requests
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal and resolve concerns promptly or escalate to a manager when needed
- Support to-go order packaging and accuracy when volume requires
- Follow all company safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards, including proper chemical handling and PPE use when cleaning
- Complete opening, running, and closing side work as assigned
- Demonstrate teamwork, integrity, and respect while upholding a positive and inclusive work environment
