The role of a Server at Trapper's Sushi plays a pivotal part in shaping the guest experience from start to finish. The Server acts as a key ambassador of the brand, delivering attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm service to guests from the moment they are seated until their departure. This position requires guiding guests through the diverse menu, providing detailed information about ingredients, preparation methods, allergens, and recommendations to enhance their dining experience. Servers are responsible for taking accurate food and drink orders, utilizing the POS system efficiently, and ensuring timely delivery of orders that meet the company’s presentation standards.

Additionally, Servers anticipate guest needs throughout their meal, including offering refills and accommodating special requests, while maintaining clear communication with hosts, chefs, kitchen staff, and management. The role also involves handling payment transactions with accuracy and adherence to cash-handling procedures, supporting to-go orders as necessary, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining room and server stations. Servers at Trapper's Sushi complete designated side work during opening, running, and closing shifts, demonstrating teamwork and upholding a positive work environment. Job Requirements

  • Previous serving, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail when taking orders, delivering food, and processing payments
  • Comfort learning and discussing menu items, including sushi, sashimi, and specialty rolls
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must obtain a valid Food Handler's Permit/State Food Worker Card prior to the first day of work
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol per Washington state law
  • Standing and walking for long periods
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and carrying trays
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Working in high-traffic areas with constant guest interaction
  • Exposure to kitchen heat, noise, and varying dining room temperatures

  • Communicate clearly with hosts, chefs, kitchen staff, and managers
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve concerns or escalate to management
  • Support to-go order packaging during high volume
  • Follow all safety and sanitation standards including proper chemical handling
  • Complete opening, running, and closing side work as assigned
  • Demonstrate teamwork, integrity, and respect in the workplace
