Job Description

The Server role at The Brigantine is central to delivering outstanding hospitality and service in the dining area. This position involves not only taking orders and serving food and beverages but also playing an active part in maintaining the cleanliness and safety standards of the dining and employee areas. Servers are expected to create an unforgettable guest experience by being attentive, responsive, and knowledgeable about menu options, including the ability to answer questions and offer insightful recommendations. In addition to technical skills, servers must embody professionalism in appearance and demeanor, represent the brand positively, and handle payment processing efficiently. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, and wipe for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to carry trays and supplies up to 30 lbs
  • Exhibit a professional appearance and mannerisms
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
  • A desire to help where needed and work as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
  • Food handler certification
  • Responsible alcohol service certification
  • Minimum 1 year serving experience in a full-service restaurant including liquor, beer, and wine
  • Ability to work positively and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire bar area and service wells

Job Duties

  • Ensure guests are enjoying their experience and take action to correct any problems
  • Conclude the guest experience by acknowledging choice of establishment and inviting patrons to return
  • Complete assigned sidework at the beginning, during, and at end of shift
  • Keep designated service stations clean and organized
  • Respond urgently and appropriately to guests’ needs
  • Anticipate guests’ needs and exceed guest service expectations
  • Protect the establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
