Job Description

The Porch is a vibrant and community-focused restaurant committed to serving fresh, local food done right. As part of the Eat'n Park Hospitality Group, The Porch prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences through genuine hospitality, quality meals, and attentive service. The restaurant atmosphere is casual yet refined, aiming to create a welcoming environment where guests feel valued and satisfied. The Porch not only emphasizes fresh ingredients and locally sourced food options but also prioritizes creating happy food for happy people, reflecting its dedication to customer happiness and excellent service standards.

The Server Expeditor role at The Porch is essential to maintaining these high service standards. Server Expeditors act as the backbone of the service team, ensuring smooth coordination between the kitchen and front-of-house staff. Their responsibilities include practicing genuine hospitality with great floor presence and impeccable tableside manner, as they interact with nearly every guest. These individuals are vital in facilitating quick and efficient service by expediting orders and managing the flow of food from the kitchen to the customers. The role demands timely execution of essential functions, as well as flexibility to undertake additional tasks as directed by supervisors.

Additionally, The Porch offers opportunities for career advancement within the Eat'n Park Hospitality Group, along with continuous professional development support through Smile Universe. Server Expeditors have access to attractive benefits including paid time off, discounts across several affiliated food establishments like Eat'n Park and Hello Bistro, and eligibility for comprehensive health plans such as 401k, vision, dental, and medical coverage.

Alongside the Server Expeditor, the Food Runner position is another critical role within The Porch team. Food Runners work closely with the chef to ensure that every guest receives hot and fresh food exactly as ordered. They play an important role in maintaining seamless communication between servers, food runners, and the kitchen staff. Food Runners must have thorough knowledge of the entire menu and serve each item professionally, embodying the restaurant’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Key functions of the Food Runner include assisting servers, managers, and chefs across different service areas, representing The Porch menu knowledgeably, adhering to the established Steps of Service, and performing courteous actions such as opening doors and pulling out chairs for guests. The role also demands physical stamina as it involves standing and walking for 100% of the shift and occasionally lifting items up to 50 lbs.

The Porch values diversity and inclusion and adheres to robust equal employment opportunity policies, ensuring a discrimination-free workplace that respects all individual characteristics protected under federal, state, and local laws. Whether in recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, or other employment terms, The Porch maintains a commitment to equity and fairness for all team members and candidates.

Joining The Porch means becoming part of a committed team that values fresh food, excellent hospitality, and a positive work environment. The establishment strives to support its employees through comprehensive benefits and career growth while fostering a culture of respect, teamwork, and continuous learning.
