The role of Server at University Senior Living, a part of Arrow Senior Living located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is a part-time position with competitive pay ranging from $17.50 to $19.50 per hour. This role requires working Sunday through Tuesday from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The Server position is integral in delivering exceptional dining experiences to residents, ensuring they feel welcomed and cared for. As a Server, you will be known as the "Host with the Most," greeting and engaging residents to foster connections in the dining room, preparing tables and salads in the role of "Peppy Prepper," maintaining cleanliness as the "Titan of Tidiness," and playing the important part of an "Appetite Anthropologist" by communicating changes in residents' dietary habits or attendance to supervisors and wellness staff.

This position demands a positive and energetic attitude, strong communication skills in English, and the physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Additionally, Servers must be able to assist residents with mobility and be cleared through a criminal background check. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least sixteen years of age
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at 8th grade proficiency
  • Positive and energetic attitude
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop for extended periods
  • Ability to frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to assist residents with sitting, standing, walking, and helping after a fall
  • Must pass criminal background check

Job Qualifications

  • At least 16 years of age
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at an 8th grade proficiency level or above
  • Positive, energetic, and friendly attitude
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility
  • Previous experience in food service or senior living preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Greet residents and make them feel welcome in the dining room
  • Prepare tables, salads, and roll silverware for meal service
  • Buss tables and sweep floors to maintain cleanliness
  • Communicate changes in residents' dietary habits or meal attendance to supervisors and wellness staff
  • Assist residents with sitting, standing, walking, and provide help after falls
  • Engage with residents to foster a welcoming and friendly dining environment
  • Ensure all meal service areas are prepared and tidy at all times
