The role of Server at University Senior Living located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is a part-time position that offers a starting wage of $16.00 to $18.00 per hour. The shift schedule is Friday and Saturday from 7 am to 2 pm. This role is integral to maintaining a warm and welcoming dining experience for residents, emphasizing a home-like atmosphere not only for the residents but also for the employees. Servers act as hosts who greet residents, create an engaging and cheerful dining environment, and assist with meal preparation and cleanup. Responsibilities include table setup, rolling silverware, bussing tables, sweeping floors, and communicating with supervisors about residents’ dietary habits and health concerns.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at an 8th-grade level or higher
- Positive and energetic attitude
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
- Ability to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking as well as post-fall assistance
- Must be criminally cleared
Job Qualifications
- At least 16 years of age
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th-grade proficiency
- Positive and energetic attitude
- Experience or interest in working with senior residents
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to assist residents physically as needed
- Criminal background clearance
Job Duties
- Greet residents and make them feel welcome in the dining room
- Prepare tables, salads, and roll silverware for meal service
- Bus tables and sweep floors to maintain tidiness
- Communicate with supervisors and wellness staff about residents' dietary habits and any changes observed
- Assist residents with sitting, standing, walking, and provide support after falls
- Foster a social and engaging environment for residents during meals
- Ensure readiness and cleanliness of the dining area for each meal
