The position available is for a full-time Server at The Summit Senior Living. This role is crucial for enhancing residents' dining experiences by ensuring top-notch hospitality and seamless meal service. Server pay ranges from $13 to $19 per hour, reflecting experience and commitment. Working Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Servers will engage with residents in a meaningful way, helping to create memorable and enjoyable mealtimes. The Server role goes beyond traditional food service; it emphasizes building personal relationships, promoting well-being, and maintaining a welcoming and tidy dining environment.
Servers at The Summit will act as warm hosts, enthusiastic preparers, and attentive cleanup specialists, facilitating smooth and pleasant dining services. They will greet residents with genuine warmth, assist in meal prep setups, keep dining areas clean, and observe residents’ eating habits, communicating any concerns with supervisors and wellness staff. The role demands a positive, energetic attitude and physical stamina as it involves standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, and assisting residents with mobility when needed. Job Requirements
- At least 16 years of age
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at an 8th grade proficiency level
- Positive and energetic attitude
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout shift
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds frequently
- Capability to assist residents with mobility including after falls
- Must pass criminal background check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in food service or hospitality is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with residents
- Ability to work standing and moving for extended periods
- Positive and empathetic attitude towards seniors
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds
- Basic understanding of resident dietary needs and wellness communication
Job Duties
- Greet residents warmly and create a welcoming dining atmosphere
- Prepare tables, salads, and silverware efficiently for meal service
- Bus tables and maintain clean dining areas including sweeping floors
- Observe and report changes in residents’ appetite or attendance to supervisors and wellness staff
- Assist residents with sitting, standing, walking, and provide support after falls
- Engage with residents to foster social connection and entertainment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth meal service and resident satisfaction
