Job Description

Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS) is a nonprofit, faith-based organization headquartered in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Founded in 1955, PHS has established itself as a respected leader in providing high-quality housing, care, and services tailored specifically for older adults. With a network of over 60 affiliated senior living communities spanning Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin, PHS serves more than 41,800 older adults and employs approximately 8,000 dedicated professionals. Additionally, it co-owns Genevive, the largest geriatric primary care practice in Minnesota, caring for over 15,500 older adults. The organization’s mission revolves around honoring God by enriching the lives and touching the hearts of older adults, emphasizing purposeful living, independence, and overall well-being.

SummerWood of Plymouth is one of PHS’s vibrant communities nestled in the heart of Plymouth, a thriving suburb in the western Minneapolis area. This location offers convenient access to major highways and is close to shopping, dining, libraries, and community centers. SummerWood prides itself on delivering exceptional assisted living and assisted living memory care options, creating a supportive and empowering environment for residents. Employees enjoy a close-knit team culture, access to amenities such as free fitness center usage, discounted employee meals, and off-street parking.

The role of the O/C Server at SummerWood of Plymouth offers an exciting opportunity to join PHS’s ministry-focused team, where the primary goal is to live out a calling for compassionate care toward older adults. In this position, the server will be responsible for creating a high-quality dining experience that aligns with PHS’s commitment to excellence, respect, and mission-driven service. The position involves assisting with meal preparation, dining room setup, and serving meals in accordance with regulations and established policies. Starting pay ranges from $19.09 to $20.59 per hour, reflecting the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Working at PHS means being part of a larger faith-based community dedicated to enriching lives through love, service, and grace. The organization fosters a culture of empowerment, engagement, and education to ensure every staff member can bring their talents fully to work. As an equal opportunity employer, PHS values diversity and welcomes individuals from all backgrounds who support its core values and mission.

Employees at SummerWood of Plymouth have access to comprehensive benefits that enhance their work-life balance and personal well-being. Full-time employees (30+ hours per week) receive health and dental insurance, employer contributions to Health Savings Accounts (HSA), life insurance, retirement plans with employer match, holiday pay, and extended sick leave. Part-time employees (20-29 hours) are eligible for vision insurance, voluntary disability coverage, accident and hospitalization insurance, and education assistance programs. All employees accrue paid time off (PTO), benefit from same-day pay, participate in an employee assistance program, and have access to college partnership educational discounts and wellness resources.

This role is ideal for individuals who demonstrate compatibility with PHS’s Christian ministry values, have strong English communication skills, and possess a passion for serving older adults in a respectful and caring environment. By joining this team, you become part of a welcoming community that supports personal growth, professional development, and meaningful contributions to the lives of seniors every day.
