Job Description

Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS) is a well-established, faith-based nonprofit organization headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota. Founded in 1955, PHS has grown into one of the largest nonprofit providers of senior housing and services in the United States. The organization is committed to delivering high-quality housing, care, and support services to older adults in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin through its network of 60 senior living communities and the Optage home and community services. In addition, PHS co-owns Genevive, the largest geriatric primary care practice in Minnesota, which provides comprehensive healthcare to over 15,500 older adults each year. PHS is known for its dedication to promoting independence, purposeful living, and overall well-being of seniors, guided by Christian ministry values that emphasize honoring God by enriching lives and touching hearts. This mission-driven organization fosters an inclusive workplace culture that welcomes diverse applicants and values employees who share their community-focused and compassionate philosophy.

Johanna Shores is one of the vibrant communities under the PHS umbrella, situated on the scenic shores of Lake Johanna in Arden Hills, Minnesota. It offers a beautiful, wooded lakeside environment just a short distance from Minneapolis and St. Paul. This active senior living community includes assisted living, assisted living with memory care, long term care, and long term care with memory support. Johanna Shores prides itself on a close-knit, supportive team atmosphere and offers both full-time and part-time opportunities where employees can grow professionally while making meaningful contributions to the lives of older adults. The facility is committed to providing exceptional service and care, ensuring residents enjoy high-quality dining experiences and a comfortable community environment.

Currently, Johanna Shores is hiring Dietary Aides (also referred to as Dining Aides or Culinary Assistants) to join their dedicated team. These positions are available on both full-time and part-time schedules, with shifts typically running from early morning to mid-afternoon for full-time roles, and late afternoon to evening for part-time roles, including every other weekend. Dietary Aides at Johanna Shores play a crucial role in creating a positive dining experience for residents by assisting with meal preparation, dining room setup, and service, all while adhering to health regulations and organizational policies. This role requires dependable individuals who enjoy teamwork and possess a passion for serving others in a senior care setting.

Employees at Johanna Shores benefit from working within a ministry-focused organization that places a high priority on supporting its staff through competitive pay, comprehensive benefits (for those working 30 hours or more weekly), scholarship and loan forgiveness programs for eligible staff, and a strong community culture. PHS offers above-average staffing ratios with no reliance on agencies, ensuring a consistent and supportive workplace. Additional perks include free fitness center access, off-street and paid underground parking options, shift differentials, discounted employee meals, and immediate same-day pay for hours worked. The organization encourages career advancement with virtually unlimited opportunities for internal promotion, making Johanna Shores an appealing choice for individuals seeking a purposeful and rewarding career in senior care and dietary services.
