The Server Assistant role at Prime Hospitality Group is a vital position within their hospitality operations. Reporting directly to the Manager, the Server Assistant plays a key role in supporting servers and contributing to a seamless dining experience. This role entails assisting with service stations, maintaining cleanliness and stock, and communicating effectively with servers to help uphold service efficiency and guest satisfaction. The Server Assistant embodies professionalism, positive hygiene practices, and a commitment to the highest standards and company policies. They serve as role models for other team members, setting an example in adherence to all operational guidelines.

Duties include setting up and restocking service stations before, during, and after service, managing glassware and ice supplies, conveying guest requests to servers, and fulfilling assigned opening and side work tasks promptly. The position also involves clearing and resetting tables in accordance with established procedures, aiding service and steward staff with cleaning duties, and handling equipment and supplies carefully. Physical stamina and agility are important, as the role requires lifting trays or equipment up to 35 pounds, frequent bending, kneeling, and use of fine motor skills for operating point-of-sale equipment and handling food and beverage items.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, handle and carry trays, smallwares and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds
  • must have good sense of balance and be able to bend, kneel, stoop, reach and squat frequently
  • must be able to use fingers continuously to operate point-of-sale equipment and prepare and serve food and beverage items

Job Duties

  • Set-up and restock service stations before, during and after service
  • restock glassware, ice and other items needed for the bar
  • communicate guest requests to service staff
  • perform duties and maintain knowledge of standards and procedures
  • obtain station assignments and complete opening and side work duties
  • return dirty dishware, glassware, utensils and linen to dishwashing area
  • reset vacated tables according to procedures
  • assist service and steward staff in spot cleaning in dining room
  • lift, handle and carry trays, smallwares and equipment up to 35 pounds
  • bend, kneel, stoop, reach and squat frequently
  • operate point-of-sale equipment and prepare and serve food and beverage items
