The Food Server role at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia is pivotal in delivering exceptional guest experiences. This position involves managing all stages of food and beverage service, from clarifying menu selections and placing orders to ensuring proper food presentation according to department standards. Food Servers act as knowledgeable ambassadors of the menu, communicating ingredient details, preparation methods, and special offerings to guests to enhance their dining experience. In addition to taking orders and processing payments, servers are responsible for maintaining an inviting and clean service area, ensuring guests’ needs and requests are met courteously and promptly. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Food Worker or Health Card
- Valid RAMP certification
- Previous customer service or food service experience
- Ability to handle fast-paced work environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to carry trays up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
- Work authorization without visa sponsorship
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Valid Food Worker or Health Card required
- Valid RAMP certification required
- Previous experience in customer service, food service, restaurant or related fields
- Ability to build rapport with guests
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math and reading skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with menu, preparation procedures and prices
- Ability to work closely and efficiently with others
- Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Responsible for all stages of food and beverage service in the restaurant, bowling area, bar or other areas throughout the venue
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the dining or service area to meet departmental standards
- Greet and make all guests feel welcome
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely fashion
- Ensure the guest has an enjoyable experience
- Possess in-depth knowledge of all menu items and specials, including ingredients, preparation methods
- Ensure appropriate utensils and condiments are present for the meal being served
- Check all tables to ascertain guest needs and remain attentive
- Ensure all phases of the meal are carried out appropriately from seating to departure
- Attend to special requests and communicate details to kitchen and management
- Obtain food and drink orders from guests and make appropriate suggestions
- Collect and process payment and use POS system accurately
- Communicate any guest concerns to management promptly
- Comply with health code and alcohol regulations
- Work collaboratively to provide the best overall guest experience
- Perform other duties as assigned
