Job Description
Eureka! is a vibrant and passionate restaurant dedicated to serving a local blend of America’s best craft beers, whiskeys, and quality food offerings. The name itself expresses the joy of discovery, perfectly reflecting the excitement and delight our guests feel when they find something truly special. We have cultivated a values-driven culture that embraces passion for service, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering an enthusiastic and genuine guest experience. Our mission is to attract and hire talent who share our passion and enthusiasm and who will foster a warm, inviting atmosphere for both our guests and team members. At Eureka!, every guest is welcomed personally and treated to attentive, efficient service that meets high standards and creates memorable dining experiences.
The Server position at Eureka! is a key role responsible for greeting all guests with a friendly and personable approach while providing efficient food and beverage service. This role demands someone with an outgoing personality, a genuine passion for the Eureka! brand, and a positive attitude. The Server is expected to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality, comply with the employee handbook and training protocols, and bring a strong knowledge of craft beers and whiskeys to effectively guide and respond to customer inquiries. The job requires the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a warm smile and providing courteous, professional service at all times. Servers must memorize order abbreviations and use proper ticket-writing procedures to ensure accuracy when entering orders into the POS system. They are also entrusted with preparing beverages according to quality and timing standards and managing food and drink placement to enhance the guest experience. Additional responsibilities include bussing tables, polishing silverware, replenishing condiments, and assisting with seating and telephone inquiries as needed. The role involves performing opening and closing duties like cleaning and food preparation and handling cash and credit transactions following company procedures. Servers must adhere strictly to state and federal alcohol service laws, ensuring the safety and compliance of all transactions involving alcoholic beverages.
Working at Eureka! requires physical stamina as the environment includes prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting supplies, and repetitive hand and wrist motion. The atmosphere is fast-paced and can be loud or hot at times, demanding resilience and energy. We use modern equipment such as point-of-sale systems, assorted kitchen tools like knives and scissors, coffee and espresso machines, and technology like the NoWait app to streamline service.
Eureka! stands by the at-will employment principle, meaning employment may be terminated by either party at any time for any reason, with or without cause or notice, including changes in position or pay. Our detailed job description outlines essential functions but is not exhaustive, and teamwork and flexibility to perform related duties as assigned are expected.
