The role of Server - Beer and Wine at Cinemark is a dynamic and engaging position that plays a crucial part in enhancing the guest experience. This role involves greeting guests warmly, guiding them through menu options, and efficiently taking and processing food and beverage orders. As part of the front-of-house team, the Server - Beer and Wine is a vital connection between guests and the rest of the cinema staff, ensuring that every visitor's experience is enjoyable and seamless. Those in this role must have strong menu knowledge, particularly regarding alcoholic beverages, and be adept at handling transactions accurately and responsibly. Additionally, the position may require cross-training to assist in other areas such as concession, box office, or usher duties, offering valuable versatility and opportunities for professional growth. The role is offered on a flexible schedule basis with hours that often include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the pay range is competitive, between $16.50 and $20.05 per hour. Job Requirements

  • Proof of age as required by state law
  • completion of basic food handling training and obtaining any local or state mandated certification or permit
  • availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • regular and consistent attendance
  • energetic and friendly attitude during each shift
  • excellent guest service skills
  • accurate cash handling and basic math skills
  • interpersonal communication skills including verbal and written English
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • ability to follow directions and respond with a sense of urgency
  • physical ability to bend, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to work in a moderate to high noise environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in customer service or food and beverage service is preferred
  • knowledge of alcohol service laws and safety protocols
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
  • basic math skills for cash handling
  • certification in safe alcohol service training or willingness to complete training
  • familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards

Job Duties

  • Greet guests with a smile in a timely and professional manner
  • possess full knowledge of bar and menu items in a fast-paced environment to enhance the guest experience
  • accurately record food and beverage orders from guests in a timely manner
  • responsible for all transactions done on assigned register
  • verifies identification to confirm guests are at least 21 years of age for all alcohol transactions
  • ensures that alcohol is consumed in designated areas only
  • consistently use suggestive selling techniques
  • collaborate with kitchen team to ensure that food orders are accurate
  • consistently wipes down and sanitizes employee and guest high-contact areas
  • properly utilizes personal protective equipment while completing position specific tasks
  • adapts to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasks
  • monitors safety and security issues and reports to management
  • performs other work-related duties as assigned
