Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
One plus years of experience as a barback in a high volume, upscale hotel or free standing lounge environments
Ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift up to 50 pounds repetitively during entire shifts
Certified Food Service Manager or equivalent
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of popular alcoholic beverages and cocktail recipes

Job Qualifications

Basic knowledge of wine and spirits and food service
Polite, friendly and helpful personality
Exceptional guest service skills
Ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift items up to 50 pounds repetitively during entire shifts
Certified Food Service Manager, TIPS or equivalent certification
Effective leadership, management, organizational and communication skills
Ability to speak, read and write English
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
At least one year of experience as a barback in a high volume, upscale hotel or lounge environment

Job Duties

Provide support to the bartender and beverage server in all aspects of service by stocking all service areas and maintaining adequate supplies throughout the shift
Clean and stock all glassware
Assist with service of beverages
Transport food trays to/from dining room
Assist with cleaning all public areas
Participate in monthly inventory
Stock and maintain supplies in all service areas
Inspect and prepare all service ware prior to use
Assist server by removing soiled glasses and plates for large parties and during high volume periods
Maintain cleanliness and sanitary condition of lounge and service areas
Assist in completion of post shift cleanup and side work duties
Maintain clean and organized storage space
Attend training sessions and meetings as required
Promote teamwork skills at all times
Notify appropriate individuals promptly of problems or unusual matters
Maintain current knowledge of all popular alcoholic beverages and cocktail recipes
Stock portable bar with required mixers, alcoholic beverages, and related supplies
Prepare mixers and garnishes prior to start of service and during shift
Set up bar service area with all necessary glassware and supplies
Greet guests politely according to Loews standards
Suggestively upsell beverages to enhance guest experience
Assist in quality service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
Break down equipment and return stock to storage areas
Record all aspects of guest orders accurately
Monitor guest consumption to prevent over indulgence and ensure safety
Inventory beverages and operating supplies and order replacements as needed
Perform all closing duties, securing inventory and supplies
Comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards
Remain current with hotel information and changes
