Job Description
Loews Hotels & Co is a distinguished hospitality company headquartered in New York City, renowned for its deep heritage and commitment to excellence in the hotel industry. As one of the few independently owned family hotel companies, Loews Hotels & Co prides itself on hospitality that truly comes from the heart. The company operates a diverse portfolio of hotels and resorts across the United States, situated in major city centers and popular resort destinations. Their properties, including multiple partnerships with Universal Orlando Resort, are celebrated for their family heritage and dedication to creating unscripted guest moments with a locally handcrafted approach.
The Loews Miami Beach Hotel, one of its flagship properties, has recently undergone a $50 million renovation to elevate the guest experience further. This oceanfront location provides guests with an immersive beachside luxury experience, blending modern amenities and stylish design with impeccable service standards. The newly redesigned hotel now features all-new touchpoints throughout the property, including thoughtfully updated bars that require consistent upkeep and management for smooth operation.
The role offered is for a Barback at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, a position integral to ensuring exceptional beverage service throughout the property. This position supports bartenders and beverage servers by maintaining a steady stock of beverages and supplies, cleaning, and preparing glassware, and assisting with service during events and daily operations. The Barback is responsible for ensuring that all bars are stocked before and during functions, restocking post-event, and assisting with monthly inventory and beverage storeroom organization. Physical tasks such as transporting food trays, keeping public areas clean, and managing service ware are essential components of the role.
Beyond technical duties, the ideal candidate will embrace the customer-first philosophy of Loews Hotels & Co. This means maintaining a polite, friendly, and helpful demeanor toward guests, colleagues, and management alike. The Barback actively participates in teamwork, communicates effectively with supervisors, and contributes to a positive service environment. Other responsibilities include preparing mixers and garnishes, monitoring guest consumption to promote safety, recording accurate guest orders, and adhering to the company’s uniform and grooming standards.
Candidates should be familiar with popular alcoholic beverages and cocktail recipes, possess a fundamental knowledge of wine, spirits, and food service, and hold relevant certifications such as Certified Food Service Manager and TIPS or equivalent. The role requires standing and physical exertion throughout shifts, requiring stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Loews Hotels & Co offers its employees not just a job but a true career path embedded in a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect. Beyond competitive compensation, the hotel company supports its team members with progressive benefits, including paid parental leave, 401K matching, travel benefits, and ongoing opportunities for professional development. Team members also join a workplace committed to environmental sustainability and community engagement.
Working as a Barback at Loews Miami Beach Hotel means being part of a respected family that values authentic interactions, hard work, and the creation of memorable guest experiences. The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all employees regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristics. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow within a renowned hospitality brand and contribute to delivering exceptional service in a premier oceanfront hotel setting.
