The role available is for a part-time Server at Banners Kitchen and Tap located in Boston, Massachusetts. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about customer service and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic dining environment. As a Server, you will be the face of the restaurant, responsible for greeting and attending to guests’ needs, presenting menus, communicating specials, and taking food and beverage orders with accuracy and professionalism. This is a tipped position with an hourly wage of $6.75, not including any tips earned. The role demands strong interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate with kitchen and bar staff, and adherence to responsible alcohol service policies. Beyond order taking and service, servers will also be involved in opening and closing duties, cleaning, and maintaining organized workspaces. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs, as well as walk, which may include walking up stairs, standing, and bending for long periods of time
- Visual awareness and hearing sufficient to take orders and prepare checks
Job Qualifications
- Experience in cash handling and credit card processing
- Beneficial if you have one year’s experience as a server in a high-volume environment and experience with a point-of-sale system in a service or hospitality environment
- No high school diploma or GED required
Job Duties
- Greet and attend to guests’ needs, provide menus and clearly communicate restaurant specials, answer menu questions, and collect food and beverage orders
- Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, adhering to all alcohol service policies and procedures
- Accurately enter orders into the point-of-sale system and process payments, as well as prepare and deliver checks to guests
- Collaborate with other restaurant servers, kitchen, and bar staff
- Perform opening, closing, cleaning, and side work duties, as assigned, and ensure all equipment and workspaces are clean, sanitized, organized, and functioning
