As a Substitute Server at Conrad New York, your role will be critical in delivering the high standards of service expected at one of New York City's most elite hotels. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a flexible schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The hourly pay rate starts at $21.74, commensurate with your experience and expertise. It is important to note that this role is unionized under the Local 6 Union, which requires complete open availability as schedules and hours may vary week to week depending on business needs and seniority. This position does not guarantee full-time hours, making adaptability and flexibility essential qualities for success.

In this role, you will be more than a food and beverage server - you will be a crucial ambassador of the Conrad New York's hospitality brand. You will be expected to bring energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism to your service while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Your responsibilities will include mastering the menu and beverage offerings so you can confidently guide guests through their dining choices and respond knowledgeably to questions. In addition to serving guests, you will be responsible for managing the food service station, keeping it fully stocked, clean, and organized, which contributes significantly to overall service quality. Moreover, adherence to health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations is mandatory, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for both guests and team members.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule with varying hours
  • Experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
  • Must be part of Local 6 Union and comply with union availability requirements
  • Ability to follow health and safety regulations
