Job Description

The Food Server role is a part-time position working weekdays from 3:30pm to 7:30pm, focused on providing excellent dining experiences for residents in the Assisted Living and Memory Care facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong positive attitude toward customer service, a genuine interest in geriatric care, and the ability to maintain strong relationships with residents and fellow staff members. This role involves serving as the main point of contact for residents in the dining room, ensuring that meals are served efficiently and with care, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining environment. The Food Server must be attentive, motivated, creative, and strive to meet the community's high standards for resident satisfaction. Job Requirements
- A high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent is preferred but not required
- Commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a keen attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- Experience serving tables in a hotel, restaurant, or fine dining club is desirable
- Ability to interpret and explain the menu, address questions, manage the meal service process, and respond to requests
- Capability to work closely with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors, and peers requiring courtesy, tact, and grace
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English, performing basic arithmetic, and following written or oral instructions in English
Job Duties
- Serve as the main point of contact for resident interactions in the dining room
- prepare dining tables with an emphasis on cleanliness and organization
- attend to residents as they arrive in the dining area
- present menus and assist residents in choosing food and beverages
- take food and beverage orders, ensuring they are communicated to the kitchen staff promptly
- deliver and serve food and beverage items quickly and confirm that each resident has received the correct menu items
- clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and the kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures
- assist in transporting food and items to and from the kitchen to dining or resident rooms
