The Food Runner role at Four Seasons Atlanta is essential to the seamless operation of the dining service. This position supports food servers by efficiently delivering food and beverages to guests, ensuring tables are properly set, and maintaining impeccable cleanliness and organization of service areas. Food Runners demonstrate attentiveness by anticipating guest needs and responding promptly to requests, contributing to an elevated dining experience. This role also involves preparing garnishes and condiments, transporting dishes safely from the kitchen to the dining area, and coordinating closely with servers to maintain smooth service flow.
The position generally involves a standard 40-hour workweek across five days, with scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of the hotel’s operations. Candidates should possess at least a high school education or equivalent experience and have a minimum of one year in food service or related roles. Physical ability to carry and balance trays efficiently is necessary to perform duties successfully. Job Duties
- Stock linen, china, silver and glassware for service ensuring that all are polished and in good condition
- Greet guests in a professional manner, serve beverage and food items while explaining the contents, and anticipate and service the guest's needs before requests are necessary
- Preparation of condiment and garnish items
- Assistance with guest service including retrieving food from the kitchen using a tray and safely transporting it to guest, as well as removal of items from the guest's table, keeping the table neat and clean, coordinate service with server
- Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables, buffets, and food stations
- Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two work rules and standards of conduct as set forth in EmPact
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
