As a Server Assistant, you play a vital supporting role in ensuring guests receive prompt, courteous, and efficient dining service. You will assist servers by clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables in a timely manner and supporting the team in maintaining the restaurant’s cleanliness and organization. A key part of your duties also includes food-running, which involves delivering prepared food orders accurately and swiftly from the kitchen to guests’ tables. Maintaining essential service items such as silverware, water pitchers, ice, napkins, glasses, plates, and other dining supplies is also a fundamental responsibility. Success in this role requires excellent guest service skills, strong communication, and teamwork abilities as well as the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. You will be expected to follow all Disney service and safety standards, including food safety procedures and responsible alcohol service laws. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to perform all necessary job functions
  • Must be able to stand and be mobile for up to 4 consecutive hours
  • Must be able to function in narrow spaces, such as those found in kitchens and dining rooms
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment/food up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess dexterity in lifting and carrying trays and other restaurant items
  • Must be able to push and pull (carts, doors etc.)
  • Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to complete work duties in a variety of environmental conditions, including coolers, freezers, kitchen environments and outdoors
  • Must be able to work with foods containing various food allergens
  • Must be able to communicate and interact politely and effectively with guests of all types
  • Must be able to effectively satisfy guest demands
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be fluent in the English language
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to arrive for all assigned shifts on-time
  • Must be able to comply company appearance guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of restaurant experience preferred
  • Minimum of high school education or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant preferred
  • Knowledge of Mexican cuisine and beverages a plus
  • Must have or be able to obtain a State of Florida Food Safety Certificate
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Florida Responsible Vendors Certificate
  • Must be well versed in food safety including proper techniques for handling food and personal hygiene requirements
  • Must be well versed in laws and company practices regarding the safe and legal service of alcoholic beverages

Job Duties

  • Assist in the overall cleanliness and organization of the restaurant
  • Assist Servers in the clearing, cleaning, and setting of guest tables
  • Assist Servers in delivering food orders from the kitchen to the guest (food-running)
  • Assist Servers in maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of each side station
  • Assist Servers in maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of each table section
  • Assist Servers in re-stocking and maintaining essential restaurant items, including water pitchers, ice, silverware, glasses, plates, napkins, tablecloths etc.
  • Assist with any additional job duties as assigned by managers/supervisors
